Social Security Disability benefits are available to workers in the United States who are unable to return to their job due to a mental or physical condition. The team at Newlin Disability explains that the process of getting your claim approved after applying for Social Security Disability benefits can sometimes be a difficult task though, considering the long wait times, processing mistakes, and erroneous denials the Social Security Administration (SSA) has become notorious for.
The SSA is hoping to address these problems through a new program that was announced by the Acting Commissioner for the SSA, Carolyn W. Colvin, last week. A press release from the agency states Vision 2025 will act as a navigational guide for the future operations of the SSA in hopes of providing the disabled with a more user-friendly experience.
The plan was created after gathering data and opinions from not only government officials and experts, but from members of the community as well. From that information, the SSA was able to identify three key areas to focus on improving. They include:
- Superior customer service
- Exceptional employees
- Organizational innovation
Officials say they hope the new plan will help the SSA create a shift in operations that will lead to a change in the way problematic issues are handled by the agency. These reforms would then allow the agency to hopefully evolve in a way that improves the services the agency provides to Americans.
At Newlin Disability, we are aware of just how complicated the Social Security Disability system can be, which is why our team is hopeful Vision 2025 will be a success.
