He graduated from Schulte High School in 1967 and went on to earn his bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration from Indiana State University in 1971. He obtained his M.B.A. from Indiana University\u2019s Kelley School of Business in 1973, and then joined family-owned Newlin-Johnson Company, Inc.
