Awaiting social security disability benefits can often test even the most patient person.
Accelerating SSD Decisions with Process
There is a process within our court system that one must go through that involves documentation and assessment. Still, there are unfortunate situations where a person does not have the time to withstand a long wait to get the benefits they need because they are no longer able to work.
Process for Compassionate Allowances
Luckily, the Social Security Administration just announced a new process for compassionate allowances to expedite the process of receiving claims for those with severe disabilities. According to the Social Security Administration, those conditions include:
- Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma
- Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm
- Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker Disease
- Microvillus Inclusion Disease – Child
- Mowat-Wilson Syndrome
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome with Excess Blasts
- NUT Carcinoma
- Pfeiffer Syndrome – Types II and III
- Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia
- Posterior Cortical Atrophy
- Renal Amyloidosis – AL Type
- Sarcomatoid Mesothelioma
The SSA reports that around 800,000 people with disabilities have benefited from this accelerated process. If you do not see a disease that impacts you here, there are over 266 conditions that are a part of the accelerated plan.
