The Social Security Administration announced that the cost of living had not risen, with inflammation low because of the slow economy, according to washintonindependent.com.

It’s the reason they’re giving for not increasing social security benefits.

The Social Security Administration said the government won’t let seniors get hit by raising Medicare costs. Sen. Harry Reid, the majority leader and a Nevada Democrat, said he does not agree and that he will try to introduce a bill granting additional funds to Social Security recipients when the Senate reconvenes.
